Work Done For The Day

Our stone waiting to be put up.
Garage doors. The deck and patio area.
Ethan trying out the new stairs.
These last two are for Brent. You got your holes for the speakers.

Back At It

As you can see, there are lots of people at the house working today. The plumbers are there as well as the garage door guy. The masons are there working on our front porch and stone.
The stairs for the back deck are also getting done today.
The drywallers are also at the house.

Mailbox

Brent put in our mailbox today. We are not ready for mail yet but Brent wanted to get it in before the ground froze. The drywallers have been busy this weekend mudding. Brent was not sure if they had 2 or 3 layers done yet. It would be nice to get some heat in to the house to help the mud dry. Maybe that will happen this week.

Really Looking Like A Home

Here are a couple of the boys sitting out front of the house. They are enjoying watching the neighbors two doors down play with a remote controlled airplane. Here is Ben, Ethan, and Drew hanging out in Brent's office. This is looking into the kitchen area.
Living room / fire place area.
The boys in the master bedroom.
Ethan got into some of the drywall "mud".
(Rita - I hear it is the same spot you stepped in.)

The Fruits of Labor

The great weather today allowed the crews to pour the driveway today. They also poured the front walkway and a little patio in back. We left at 5:30 pm (in the dark) and they were still there pouring part of the sidewalk.
After seeing how big the driveway is, Brent decided he needs a snow blower!
Here is our front step and walkway.
Another crew worked on the deck today.
We tried to put the boys' hand prints in the cement but the cement was already pretty hard. We will have to see if you can see them when everything drys.
Another crew was busy putting up dry wall. I could not get a very good picture of their work. It was dark by the time we got there and the dust was really flying.

Make Hay While The Sun Shines

Today is a busy day at the house. The concrete guys are there as well as the deck builders and a flooring guy. They are getting ready to pour the driveway, front step and ...
the back patio. Another crew is also working on the deck.

Good Day To Look Around

There is not much action at the house today so it was a good day to take the boys and look around. I am so excited about the way the house is coming together. I think the workers are tired of seeing me but I just can't stay away. Boys in front of an insulated wall.
The boys in the master bathroom.
A view of my front door from the upstairs. What am I going to put on those big, tall walls?

Speak Now

Speak now or forever hold your peace. This is the color choice I have settled on. It is artichoke, practical beige, and brevity brown.

We Have A Front Door

We got our front door today.
And insulation.

Less Trucks - More Progress

As you can see the number of trucks outside the house has really decreased. The electrician is done and the plumber was just finishing up. Not 100% sure about the heating and cooling guys but they must be close. The city came and inspected this morning and will be back tomorrow morning. The plan is for insulation in the afternoon tomorrow and then drywall.
There was a hold up with our front door but it should be coming tomorrow and they also plan to put it in tomorrow.
The heating and cooling guys seem to be making slow progress. I am told that we need a few more parts for the geo-thermal system. This is what we have so far.
We have water lines! This is the main bath on the second floor.
This is water lines running to the master shower.
This is water lines in the master bath.
While I was walking through the house this afternoon I notice water pouring off the roof. Do I say something to the plumber that is there? Well I did mention it and he said "good". He was filling the water lines and the water out the roof meant the water had filled that far. This is how I understand it. It could be all wrong and make no sense. It would not be the first time that has happened to me.

Taking Shape

The house is really taking shape now.

Shake, Shake, Shake Shingles.

The siding is getting really close to being done. The rain held off today so the front of the house is now taking shape. This is what the peaks will look like with shake shingles and a corbel (the little brace thing at the top).
Side of the garage. Today we got a door and a utility box.
This is the covered porch on the back.
Ben and his (MUCH smaller) dirt pile.
More colors to look at.
Here is Ben helping with the paint colors.
